A 20mph speed limit in all city centers instated immediately to enable active travel, reduce traffic and create safe spaces for adults and children. This has already been implemented successfully in Wales.

Close streets to car through traffic where needed. Reallocate parking spaces to bicycle parking and usable urban space for the community. This will benefit those with mobiity issues, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

Halt all projects that will increase the volume of car journeys and use of cars immediately. It has been proven time and time again giving more space to motor traffic only induces more traffic. I'm looking at you sprawling suburbia.

The UK government currently mandates all new cycling and walking infrastructure must meet their strict guidelines. They are also however severely underfunding active travel. Combined these two factors mean radical new infrastructure construction has stalled. The government must commit to increasing active travel funding or give control over to local authorities.
